This July, take part in Love to Move for Dementia and challenge yourself to walk 10,000 steps every day of July to raise money for the British Gymnastics Foundation.
From the 1st July – 31st July 2022, join a movement of incredible fundraisers who will be walking, running, dancing or even completing their daily housework to rack up their steps in the comfort of their own environment. Not only will you be able to embrace the summer sun and improve your mobility and fitness, but the money raised through this fundraising event really could change the quality of life for somebody living with Dementia.
All funds raised will go to the British Gymnastics Foundation including our Love to Move programme, our seated movement and cognitive enhancement programme aimed at older people from 55 to 105. It particularly benefits people living with dementia and other cognitive disease.
Just £300 would pay to train a Love to Move deliverer to go on to deliver Love to Move to those in need in thier area.
Where to start
1. Simply click on 'Fundraise for us' to set up your fundraising page, share it with family, friends and on social media (use the hashtag #lovetomovefordementia so we can follow your journey)
2. Let us know that you are planning to take part by emailing us [email protected] and we will be in touch to support you along the way!
3. Start planning your 10,000 steps for each day in July. You can use a step tracker on your watch or phone to keep an eye on your steps each day.
4. Look forward to getting outdoors, getting fit and making a huge difference with your fundraising efforts.
We will be updating this page with ideas for how and when to fit in your steps, hints and tips for increasing your fundraising and to let you know the difference your support is making.
